Jesus Christ came to heal the divide between the Creator God and his creation. He was the one promised in the Scriptures of the Old Testament. The one who would come and mend what had gone wrong in Creation itself. He was like new wine, in a world of old wineskins; or like a new piece of material, sown onto an old garment. He came to bring life, in a way never before seen. And, all of this, is clearly demonstrated in Jesus’ call of the Tax Collector, Levi and his fellowship with Levi’s friends (Tax Collectors and Sinners).
