Jesus came to reveal the Father to a world which had never seen God. But, surely the Jews, the chosen people, the holy nation, God’s precious possession, has seen God. Surely they understood who God was and what He was like. But even they had forgotten God. They had forgotten that God loves the outsider, that he extends kindness to foreigners, that he shows grace to slaves (like they were back in the Exodus!). And so, Jesus comes to show them, that God is loving, kind and gracious!
