When Jesus finds out that one of his most beloved friends is sick, who lives a mere 3 kilometres from the Jewish authority in Jerusalem (who are seeking to arrest Jesus), what will Jesus do? Will he stay back in the Trans-Jordan, hoping and praying that his friend might get better, or will he go to his friend? Well, after two days of waiting, Jesus goes. And then, after declaring himself to be “The resurrection and life”, he proves that he is indeed who he claims to be. He raises Lazarus from the dead and gives life to his dead body. He drags the future resurrection into the present, giving life to all who believe in him.
